Today 14-18 NOW announced their season of commissions commemorating the centenary of Armistice and the end of the First World War which includes a commission at the International Festival

Five Telegrams is a unique collaboration between Anna Meredith, one of the country’s most exciting contemporary composers – widely acclaimed for her album Varmints, which seamlessly crosses classical and pop – and 59 Productions, the Tony Award-winning design company whose work includes the London 2012 Opening Ceremony and the National Theatre smash hit War Horse. Part of 14-18 NOW, Five Telegrams was presented at the BBC Proms and will be played at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Opening Event at the 2018 Edinburgh International Festival – the first time these two major cultural organisations have worked together in this way.

Co-commissioned by 14-18 NOW, BBC Proms and Edinburgh International Festival

Full details about the Aberdeen Standard Investments Opening Event: Five Telegrams will be unveiled later in the spring. The full International Festival programme will be released at our 2018 launch on Wednesday 14 March.
