Snap up free tickets with your Young Musician’s Pass

As a YMP member, you get two free tickets for: one performance at Usher Hall, one concert at The Queen’s Hall and one show at the Hub. This guide will take you throughsome highlights of what you can see this summer.

European Union Youth Orchestra

The European Union Youth Orchestra are one of the best youth orchestras in the world and have members from 27 different countries across Europe.

  • In their performance of Don Quixote they share the romantic adventures of the chivalrous knight who goes by the name Don Quixote. Hear a range of instruments, from violins to violas, tubas and bass clarinet.
  • In Young Person's Guide to the Orchestratheylead an educational expedition across the instruments of the grand ensemble.

Ilumina Residency

Get swept away by a Brazilian fiesta with our concerts from Ilumina. They’re a collective* of musicians, who give opportunities to young talented musicians from diverse backgrounds in Latin America.

You can relax on a beanbag for two of their performances.

  • Exploring Ilumina is a special chance to have the string musicians move around you as they play interesting rhythms and non-classical music.
  • You can listen to Afro-samba and French baroque music in a performance named In The Light Of Shadow . Get a taste of different sounds from across the world. Remember to pack your passport 😉

Bamberger Symphoniker

The Bamberger Symphoniker take centre stage as one of our three orchestral residencies in August. With four magnificent concerts at Usher Hall, they explore a powerful lineage of musical mentorship. The two events below still have availability for YMP members.

Sheku Kanneh-Mason & Harry Baker

From classical music to jazz, this concert featuring cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason and pianist Harry Baker will transport you through music history. You’ll get a chance to listen to some Johann Sebastian Bach and even some arrangements from the jazz and R&B singer Laura Mvula.

Did you know, Kanneh-Mason also played at the royal wedding in 2018 which was watched by over two million people!
