In a very special six-concert series at International Festival 2019, some of today’s most exceptional harpsichord players join the fine musicians of Scotland’s Dunedin Consort for a complete survey of J S Bach’s keyboard concertos.

Brilliant Dutch/Japanese harpsichordist Masato Suzuki is one of today’s most incisive, elegant players. Alongside works for solo keyboard, he performs Bach’s spirited, energetic G minor Concerto BWV 1058, and the breathtakingly virtuosic D minor Concerto BWV 1052, Bach’s earliest keyboard concerto.

Five of the concert series’ six events take place in the remarkable surroundings of Edinburgh’s intimate St Cecilia’s Hall – Scotland’s oldest purpose-built concert hall, dating back to 1763. The Hall also houses the University of Edinburgh’s rich collection of historical musical instruments, including an astonishing collection of harpsichords which are featured across these revelatory concerts.
