Hopelessness is the new album from ANOHNI, formerly known as Antony Hegarty, lead singer and songwriter for Antony and the Johnsons.

But this hard-hitting, visually stunning live show is a world away from the symphonic opulence of her earlier albums.

Working with groundbreaking producers Oneohtrix Point Never and Hudson Mohawke, Hopelessness collides an uncompromising electronic dance soundtrack with ANOHNI’s soulful, uplifting vocals.

Hopelessness is a scream of fury against the evils of today’s world: mass surveillance, drone warfare, ecocide. Delivered in infectious, unforgettable pop. This is the electronic dance anthem as visceral protest song.

With tracks including the single ‘4 Degrees’, ‘Drone Bomb Me’, ‘Obama’ and ‘Indian Girls’, Hopelessness live features film, dance and live music. It’s a soul-searing, spellbinding experience that will challenge you, overwhelm you, and provoke you into action.

Album co-produced by Hudson Mohawke

Please note, due to unforeseeable scheduling difficulties, ANOHNI’s concert on 18 August will not now take place.

There will not be a support act for this event and the advertised start time will be when the concert begins.

This performance contains strobe lighting.

As profound a protest record as anyone has made in decades

The Guardian

In her singing I am reminded of what we mean by "soul" music: empathy, pain, sincerity, dignity, the truth of life.
