Charismatic British keyboard player and conductor Richard Egarr is one of the world’s pre-eminent authorities on period performance, yet he tempers his expert erudition with the sheer verve of his vivid, sometimes provocative performances, bursting with fresh vitality and a sense of adventure.

Egarr brings together the ornate melodies, intricate counterpoint and stately dance of four of Bach’s captivating English and French suites, from the relaxed charm of the French Suite No 5 to the urgent rhythms of the English Suite No 3.

This concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
