Join the buzz in Leith with this new playlist celebrating the music appearing at Hidden Door, one of our collaborators for Light on the Shore with Edinburgh Gin Seaside.
We're celebrating our collaboration with Hidden Door by exploring some of the music that they are bringing to Leith in the coming weeks. This year's line-up features some stellar artists who also appear as part of our own Light on the Shore with Edinburgh Gin Seaside programme, including Free Love (formerly known as Happy Meals), C Duncan, and Honeyblood - who will appear with The Jesus and Mary Chain and Spinning Coin at the Hidden Door gig at the International Festival this August.
Kudos are due to Hidden Door for championing the drive towards gender equality in festival line-ups by spotlighting so many female-identifying artists on their bill - in fact, their launch party is made up entirely of women. We will keep exploring this important issue on 24 August with Since Yesterday, a night curated by TeenCanteen's Carla J. Easton that remembers the often forgotten, but no less exceptional, female-fronted bands of Scotland's music history.
We are thrilled to be joining Hidden Door in shining a light on Scotland's creative community in Leith Theatre this summer. We'll be there to raise a glass to their hard work in May and June, whilst looking forward to our own Leith Theatre programme this August, including the Hidden Door curated night on 14 August.
