Hidden Door present
The Jesus and Mary Chain

With Honeyblood & Spinning Coin

A special evening at the International Festival from Hidden Door as part of Light on the Shore with Edinburgh Gin Seaside at Leith Theatre.

Edinburgh multi-arts festival Hidden Door was instrumental in getting the long out-of-action Leith Theatre open to the public again, after years of being used as a council storage facility. So it seems only fitting that the organisers do their own one-night takeover of the magnificent venue, filling the space with film screenings, art installations and live music.

Hailing from East Kilbride, The Jesus and Mary Chain shaped the era-defining fuzzy, shoegazey sound with their blissed-out Psychocandy in 1985, and toured it again on the album’s 30th anniversary.

Honeyblood are a slacker-rock duo from Glasgow, celebrating girlhood through distorted guitars and woozy harmonies, and spreading a defiant message about women fending for themselves.

Spinning Coin channel the gorgeous pastoral indie folk made famous by The Pastels and update it with their own dark, dreamy spin for modern audiences.
