Your visit to The Studio


We ask that you arrive at the venue in plenty of time as latecomers may not be admitted.

Please note that there is no cloakroom facility to store belongings and The Studio provides coat rails for jackets only. You should not bring bags (or other items) larger than 30cm x 30cm x 15cm to our venues.

In the interests of all audience members, babies and children under four years old are not permitted in the venue. Children under the age of 16 must be supervised by a responsible adult.

Getting here

The Studio is located behind the Festival Theatre on Potterrow.

Edinburgh is very compact, which makes it ideal to explore on foot or by bicycle. See below for information about getting to the venue.

  • Level access to main entrance and automatic doors
  • Banked seating with wheelchair spaces and accessible seating available in row A. To book a wheelchair space, call the Box Office on 0131 529 6000
  • Unisex accessible toilets on level one with emergency call buttons and handrails
  • No loop system in Box Office or auditorium
  • Box Office has low counter  
  • Mobile Connect Enhanced Hearing – download the Sennheiser MobileConnect app before arrival and ensure you bring your phone and headphones. Venue staff will assist audiences to connect to the Studio WIFI.  
  • Assistance dogs are welcome and can be looked after by venue staff
Auditorium Accessibility
  • All auditorium seats are 50cm wide
  • The front row has level access and the best opportunity for leg room. All other rows are accessible via stairs
  • Our seats have a back 50cm high, have 38cm of legroom and are 34cm high off the floor
  • All of our auditorium seats have arm rests that do not move as these are fold-down bleachers style seats
  • Good AD signal from any seat
  • Good view of BSL interpreter from any seat
  • Good view of captions from the seating banks
