Yuja Wang
Yuja Wang started playing piano at six years old and shot to acclaim in her teens. Her international breakthrough came in 2007, when she replaced Martha Argerich as soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Today’s spirited piano superstar, she returns to the International Festival for a solo recital, following her triumphant concerto performance in 2023 with the Oslo Philharmonic and conductor Klaus Mäkelä.
Wang’s technical flair, charismatic artistry and gift for drawing her audience ‘into the world of each composer with compelling immediacy’ (Financial Times) have proved her one of most globally admired performers. She gives her all into her spontaneous and energetic performances, standing by her maxim that every programme ‘should have its own life’ and represent how she feels at that very moment in time.
She will choose an eclectic programme of virtuoso masterpieces encompassing the genres of classical, Romantic, impressionist and contemporary.
Wang played with exceptional power, depth and dazzle … What seemed the most impressive was the focus. Once each performance started, all else seemed to fall away … She can count on being – and was to an exceptional degree – musically apt.

D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people and under 18s are entitled to a 50% concession discount.
Free Essential Companion tickets are available for those who need them. Select Essential Companion ticket from the drop-down menu, and the price will automatically update to a free ticket in your basket. You must purchase two tickets for the Essential Companion offer to apply.
Arts workers and under 30s are entitled to a 30% concession discount, which are available from 21 March. Arts workers and under 30s concessions are not available on top-price tickets (Prices A+, A, G and H). Proof of eligibility may be requested at venues.

YOUNG CHILDREN POLICY
We adhere to each venue’s individual policy and advise that you contact our box office for further information before booking tickets. We will include age guidance on relevant performances.
TICKET EXCHANGES & REFUNDS
No refunds will be given except in the event of cancellation of a performance. Tickets may be exchanged up to 48 hours before a performance to another performance of the same show, subject to availability. A £1.50 fee per ticket exchanged will be charged.
