Preview: Dàna with Ellie Beaton

Start your Festival with the sounds of these award-winning, emerging Scottish folk artists.

Dàna is an emerging all-female folk band based in Glasgow. Their name, meaning ‘bold’ or ‘audacious’ in Gaelic, perfectly captures their vibrant sound.

Featuring a traditional Scots blend of fiddle, clarsach, whistle and piano, they have swiftly made a name for themselves in Scotland, winning Up and Coming Artist of the Year at the 2025 BBC Alba Scots Trad Music Awards, and a Danny Kyle award at Celtic Connections 2025.

Dàna is joined onstage by the rich, warm vocals of Aberdeenshire singer Ellie Beaton, winner of last year’s prestigious BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year award. Discover their fresh sound up close at The Hub.
