Everyone is invited
The Edinburgh International Festival is proud to provide a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment for everyone. We ask that you help us create a culture that values consideration and compassion for others.
We want you to feel welcome
The festival offers a diverse programme of performances and experiences that bring together people with different backgrounds and perspectives. We want you to feel comfortable and enjoy your time with us. We will listen to what you need, endeavour to remove barriers, and provide guidance on what to expect.
Respect for others
This means respecting the dignity, boundaries and identities of members of our audience, our staff, artists, volunteers, and anyone associated with the festival. We are all accountable for how we speak or act - please consider how your actions might affect those around you. Everyone has the right to feel safe and comfortable participating in the festival as themselves.
We will not tolerate or condone behaviour that creates feelings of unease, discomfort or embarrassment or acts of harassment or discrimination. We reserve the right to revoke access or remove anyone exhibiting harmful behaviours. This includes any physical or verbal abuse to staff, volunteers or audiences.
Report
If you experience or want to discuss something that is not right, please tell a festival representative immediately or contact us at [email protected].
