Project Smok at The Hub
The neo-trad trio brings its innovative blend of Scottish traditional music and pop influences to The Hub.
Formed in 2017, Project Smok takes an excitingly nonconformist approach to Scottish traditional music. The neo-trad trio of Ali Levack, Ewan Baird and Pablo Lafuente combines piping, bodhran and guitar. Known for blending trad music with pop influences, the group does away with any perceived limits of genre from the first note.
The award-winning group draws inspiration from all over – from indie pop acts such as The 1975 and Bon Iver to more time-honoured, West Coast styles of playing.
Their debut album Bayview has cemented their place as a young, energetic band at the forefront of the traditional music scene.
whether you’re approaching from the neo or the trad side of the hyphen, you’re unlikely to be disappointed
