Join us for this joyful celebration of Scotland’s homegrown music scene in Princes Street Gardens.
Fusing together brass bands and pipers, rappers and choirs, Festival Director Nicola Benedetti has worked with Tinderbox Collective & Music Education Partnership Group to assemble a diverse community of Scotland’s young musicians for an energetic afternoon of music making.
For the first day of the celebrations, wander through the park to hear the likes of Granton Youth Club, the Ceilidh Trail Ensemble and Musicians in Exile showcased on our three stages – The Brass Zone, Street Band Area and The Ross Bandstand .
To celebrate the opening of the Festival, the day will culminate in a massive feat of community music making at The Ross Bandstand at 4.15pm. Everyone is invited to take part in a live workshop and performance of a brand-new piece of music ‘Community Over Chaos’, alongside the 300 artists of all ages who have performed throughout the day.
This event is free and unticketed, so feel free to drop in from 12pm onwards.
