Jupiter Ensemble at The Hub
Thomas Dunford's handpicked ensemble of young early musicians combines exceptional virtuosity with a relaxed charm that has captivated audiences around the world.
The Jupiter Ensemble was formed in 2018 by lute player Thomas Dunford. Its exceptional young musicians (described by Gramophone as ‘Baroque A-listers’) are all masters of their instruments and many also have thriving careers as soloists. The group performs at leading venues and festivals throughout Europe and beyond. Its repertoire ranges from masterpieces by Vivaldi and Handel to original compositions by Dunford himself. The group's second album, Amazone, was hailed by the Guardian as ‘beautifully performed, vivacious and intelligently programmed’.
In this exhilarating concert, six of Jupiter’s instrumentalists invite you on a journey to explore treasures of Baroque chamber music. The wide-ranging programme may feature an appearance from a surprise celebrity guest.
Quite simply, this was gorgeous singing and playing, from first to last.
The Hub Series is supported by Sir Ewan and Lady Brown together with Flure Grossart
