Dàimh
The Gaelic supergroup bring a contemporary take on traditional music to the Festival with a rousing performance including bagpipes, fiddle and Gaelic song.
Dàimh (which means kinship in Gaelic, pronounced ‘dive’ in English) features Angus Mackenzie and Gabe McVarish on fiddle, Ross Martin on guitar, Murdo Cameron on mandala and accordion and rising star Ellen MacDonald on vocals.
Since forming 20 years ago, Dàimh have toured around the world, sharing their passion for contemporary Highland and Gaelic music with over 20 countries. Recent accolades include 2019’s Best Folk Band in Europe at the prestigious FolkHerbst competition in Germany and Folk Band of the Year at the 2018 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards.
Expect a warm welcome or in their own words, 'a mixture of high-energy and fast-flowing music from the Gaelic tradition; songs old and new covering all the favourite subjects of the Gaels – love, death, war and drink.'
Dàimh have been crafting exceptional Gaelic music that takes its very heart from the traditional music of the region.Folk Radio UK
