John Williams & John Etheridge
Two of the world’s greatest guitarists unite for an eclectic concert fusing jazz, folk, world and classical music.
Two of the world’s greatest guitarists – one the most celebrated classical guitarist of his generation, and the other a luminary of jazz and blues guitar – unite for an eclectic concert fusing jazz, folk, world and classical music. They have collaborated for over a decade, combining their contrasting styles into a fascinating mix.
Both guitarists have refused to recognise orthodox musical boundaries, as today’s performance demonstrates. Among compositions by John Williams and jazz and blues standards from John Etheridge, they play dazzling music from across Africa, Bach, and Paul Hart’s witty homage to Beethoven, Ludwig’s Horse, written specially for the duo.
