Musical Sorcery: Berlioz and Dukas | Classroom Resources

The 2019 theme of the Virgin Money Schools Concert was musical sorcery and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra played three movements from Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique as well as The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Paul Dukas. The Orchestra was conducted by Marta Gardolińska in a performance lasting 45 minutes. Rachel Leach presentrf the concert and led the audience of around two thousand Primary 7 pupils through the music.

This resource pack was created as a central source of information for you and your pupils. We hope that you might use some elements of it in the classroom to prepare for the performance, and to continue exploring some of the themes afterwards.
