Jupiter Artland will host Trisha Brown: In Plain Site, a series of outdoor performances across different sites lasting between 2 and 20 minutes. Please come prepared for all weather, sensible footwear, warm clothing and rain gear is recommended and adverse weather may effect start times.

Jupiter Artland will be open to visit and explore one hour before the performance start time, however access to the indoor exhibition spaces, shop and café will not be available.

We kindly ask that you arrive 30 minutes before show time.

Getting there

  • There is only one entrance to Jupiter Artland via the B7015. The SATNAV postcode to find the venue is EH27 8BY
  • Free car park located on site accessible via the main gate. There is no parking on roads in the vicinity of Jupiter Artland
  • Ten blue badge car parking spaces 
  • There is a designated taxi pick up and drop off location inside Jupiter Artland
  • Cars and taxis should depart via the clearly indicated exit road. Please note, there is a one-way traffic flow system at the venue so please only use the signposted exit road
  • Bus stop (Wilkieston stop, a 15 minute walk to the performane site): X27 (Lothian Country), 23 (First Bus)

Please note, the B7015 East Calder road is shut between Langton Road and the Camps Industrial Estate roundabout. This does not affect traffic coming from Edinburgh or Glasgow via the A71.

Venue accessibility
  • Most of Jupiter Artland is natural woodland and meadow which can be uneven underfoot 
  • An accessible drop-off point is located adjacent to the first performance site. Accessible parking is available further away and is clearly sign-posted
  • Wheelchair viewing spaces are available and guides will lead audiences via wheelchair accessible routes 
  • Accessible toilets are located near the Steadings Gallery, which is about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the performance site
  • No loop system. Most performances are without musical accompaniment 
  • Box office has a low counter 
  • Assistance dogs are welcome provided they are on a lead as there are livestock on site

Trisha Brown: In Plain Site takes place at three locations in vicinity of the following artworks at Jupiter Artland: Charles Jencks’ Cells of Life (grass walkways); Andy Goldsworthy’s Stone Coppice (dirt track) and Phyllida Barlow’s quarry (dirt track leading to woodland clearing). Accessible routes and viewing spots are designated at each site. It is approximately 10 minute walk between each site. Performances at each site last between 10 and 20 minutes.

Safety and security

Arrive at venues in plenty of time as latecomers may not be admitted.

Your safety and security at International Festival events is of the utmost importance to us. Please note that bags may be subject to security searches and you should not bring bags larger than 30cm x 30cm x 15cm to our venues. No larger bags (or similar) will be allowed into the venue. There is no cloakroom to store belongings.
