As a Member, you have access to an exclusive programme of year round events, including everything from backstage tours and talks with artists to overseas trips to joining us for a pre-performance or interval drink during the International Festival. You can also catch up with fellow members and arts lovers at our regular Friends on Monday coffee mornings plus lunches and afternoon teas throughout the year. These events provide exclusive behind-the-scenes insights, bringing you closer to the International Festival and enhancing your festival experience year round. Backstage Tours

John Robb, Head of Technical at the International Festival, will once again be conducting his fantastic backstage tours exclusively for members at the following productions.  Tickets for all tours are priced at £5 and spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment! Guests should meet in the box office area of the theatre to begin each tour.

Leith Theatre Venue Tour (sold out)

Described by The List as ‘the best live music venue in Scotland’, the formerly closed Leith Theatre will soon be home to our exciting Light on the Shore with Edinburgh Gin Seaside programme this August.  We are excited to welcome members to join John Robb, Head of Technical, as he conducts a guided tour of the renovated theatre and discusses the history of this fascinating venue.  Guests should meet in front of Thomas Morton Hall.

Festival Lunch at Dine (sold out)

Situated above the Traverse Theatre, Dine is a multi-award winning luxury brasserie and cocktail lounge with a focus on inventive local fare.  This year’s Festival lunch gives the opportunity to meet new friends and catch-up with fellow Members over a seasonal meal.

Akram Khan: In Discussion

With this year’s International Festival performances of XENOS marking some of his final steps in a full-length production, we are thrilled to invite International Festival members to join us as Mary Brennan interviews Akram Khan on his illustrious career. Guests should meet in the box office area of the Festival Theatre.

Members Festival Coffee Morning

Drop in to the Hub for a coffee and the opportunity to chat to fellow Members and International Festival staff about your recent experiences and feedback on the must-see productions!  No need to book – just turn up and enjoy.

Edinburgh Gin Tasting (sold out)

In 2018, we have welcomed the award-winning Edinburgh Gin on board as a sponsor not only of our Light on the Shore programme at Leith Theatre but also of our home at the Hub.  Join us a member of the expert team from Edinburgh Gin conducts an exclusive tasting for members in the Dunard Library.  The experience will include a full tasting of the Edinburgh Gin range and a talk about the gin-making process. Guests should meet in the main foyer of the Hub.

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Rehearsal (sold out)

We are delighted to welcome International Festival members to observe a rehearsal with Marin Alsop and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra as they rehearse with Nicola Benedetti ahead of their Leonard Bernstein celebration on Saturday 25 August.

Please note

- Guests should meet in the box office area of the Usher Hall
- In order to avoid disturbing the performers, please arrive in plenty of time for the start of the rehearsal and be advised that latecomers will not be admitted
- Seating will be in the Grand Circle and is unreserved
- There is no access to other parts of the hall or backstage area
- Please only leave the rehearsal during a recognised break
- As this is a working rehearsal, pieces will not necessarily be played in their entirety
