Want to sing with the world’s greatest orchestras, soloists and conductors?  Take your place on stage with one of the world's finest amateur choruses.

The Edinburgh Festival Chorus gives voice to the International Festival’s choral programme – with singers from across Scotland coming together to learn exhilarating repertoire and perform at the International Festival with renowned conductors and orchestras such as Sir Antonio Pappano and the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and Marin Alsop and the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra. 

If you’d like to join the Chorus, contact our Chorus Manager Helen MacLeod ( to arrange an audition. There are opportunities for both full and augmenter membership with the Chorus for the 2017 International Festival – the International Festival’s 70th anniversary. 

The Edinburgh Festival Chorus is set to perform the following music at the 2017 International Festival:

Berlioz La Damnation de Faust
Elgar Scenes from the Saga of King Olaf
Prokofiev Seven, They Are Seven
Schumann Scenen aus Goethes “Faust”
Verdi Stabat mater and Te Deum

At the 2016 International Festival the Chorus performed in The Opening ConcertElgar's The ApostlesBerlioz's Roméo et JulietteSão Paulo Symphony Orchestra and Schoenberg’s epic Gurrelieder.
