We are excited to announce the full line up of Numbers night at the Leith Theatre as part of Light on the Shore with Edinburgh Gin.

Numbers present a night of laser guided melodies, digital precision and electronic embrace with SOPHIE, Lanark Artefax, Spencer and Sofay on Saturday 11 August from 10.30pm.

The night showcases performances from two singular artists - Lanark Artefax and SOPHIE - whose productions and unique visions of electronic music have been welcomed by the mainstream, alongside DJ sets from Glasgow based Sofay and Numbers co-founder Spencer.

SOPHIE is an electronic producer, songwriter, and DJ based in LA. SOPHIE’s singular sound shirks convention and pushes familiar musical styles to their furthest extremes. Her diverse production works include collaborations with rapper Vince Staples, Kendrick Lamar and Charli XCX, alongside debut Product, released on Numbers. SOPHIE releases new album ‘OIL OF EVERY PEARL’s UN-INSIDES’ this week on 15 June.

Tagged as one of the most exciting young electronic artists in the UK right now, Lanark Artefax creates emotional yet abstract hi-definition electronic music, with releases including 2017’s standout Touch Absence winning praise from Aphex Twin and Bjork. More recent work includes remixing Arisen My Senses for Bjork, who he supports on a selection of dates this summer. Numbers present his Monolith live show in Edinburgh for the first time, following performances at Sonar, Atonal, Mutek and Unsound festivals.

Schooled early from a teenage job at Rubadub Records, Glasgow native Calum Morton - aka Spencer - is a key link between major flags suck in the musical map. Warp and RBMA have counted on him as part of the family (still do), but he is predominantly known for being an A&R, resident deejay and cornerstone of Numbers since 2003. Numbers co-founder alongside fellow partner Jackmaster, the internationally acclaimed DJ has helped shape the sound of Numbers. Whatever style he picks in his sets, the records are classy, effective and uniformly excellent.

Completing the line-up is Glasgow-based DJ & radio host Sofay. Alongside running her longstanding Sub City Radio show ‘Self Service’, Sofay co-runs Sssuperstudio with Bake and Tom Marshally and has taken her sound outside of Scotland with guest slots at Ben UFO’s XOYO residency, NTS Radio, Nacht Digital and most recently for Resident Advisor’s ‘Live at Brilliant Corners’ series. Her sets focus on the weird and psychedelic, moving through left-field house, techno, post-punk & disco.
