Photo gallery | 2017 programme launch

It’s been a really fantastic couple of days since we launched the 2017 programme on Wednesday. We are thrilled with the excitement and kind words you shared with us online and in person. As we are catching our breath this Friday afternoon, we put together a photo gallery from the launch.

On Wednesday morning, the 2017 International Festival programme was revealed to our colleagues, artists, friends and journalist gathered in the Assembly Room. We returned to the venue in the evening to celebrate the launch at the party.

Guests were welcomed by students from the Castlebrae Community High School who will also be helping out when Boy Blue Entertainment premiere their new work at the school's gym hall transformed into an International Festival venue.

Director Fergus Linehan gave a presentation to a full house of guests, introducing the 2017 programme and touching upon the founding principles of the International Festival - an examination of the ties that bind us together and a re-statement of a shared sense of humanity.

Presentation included videos in which some of the artists were talking about the productions and repertoire they will bring to the International Festival this year. When you have a moment, you can watch some of them on our YouTube channel.

After the presentation, the guests made their way to our home next door, The Hub, where they were dazzled, quite literally, with a giant mirror ball in the Sculpture Hall.

The Main Hall looked absolutely stunning! The room was buzzing with excitement; serious thoughts mixed with serious fun.

Crowds at the party

A team behind the bar was serving two very special drinks that night - Spirit of '47 and The International.

And of course no party would be complete without a selfie!
