Gianandrea Noseda discusses Verdi’s Macbeth

Verdi is so able to keep the attention alive

The very first opera to be performed at the 1947 International Festival, Macbeth returns in 2017 as a major new production by Teatro Regio Torino, conductor Gianandrea Noseda and director Emma Dante.

With its searing emotional intensity, diabolical themes and ferociously original score, Verdi’s Macbeth guarantees you one of the darkest nights at the opera.

In this video, Gianandrea Noseda proclaims that Macbeth is one of the most visionary opera’s Verdi has composed and discusses how the dark operatic thriller portrays the search and struggle for power.

Macbeth will be performed at the 2017 International Festival on 18-20 August at the Festival Theatre, and you can book your tickets now.
