British Sign Language Interpreted Performances

British Sign Language (BSL) interpreted performances allow people who are Deaf or for whom BSL is their first or preferred language to access live performances. BSL interpreters provide a linguistic and artistic interpretation. The interpreter mostly stands to one side of the stage.

Solar Bear Deaf Theatre Club

The International Festival has teamed up with Solar Bear to offer Deaf Theatre Club events for all of our 2016 BSL interpreted performances. Solar Bear’s Deaf Theatre Club is for deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people throughout Scotland who enjoy theatre. Members enjoy reduced price tickets, pre and post show discussions and the opportunity to feedback to venues about what they’re doing well for deaf audiences and what they’re not!
