William Stafford | Clarinet

William has been a member of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra since 2011. He studied at Manchester University, the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal College of Music, London, where he graduated with distinction, and has performed with many of the UK's best orchestras.

William loves taking part in SCO school projects. He particularly enjoys SCO Soundmoves – a project linking music and movement – and The Snail and the Whale workshops which combine music, storytelling and marine ecology!

Aisling O’Dea | Violin

Aisling joined the SCO in 2007 and plays with the first violins. She was born in Dublin and started to play the violin at the age of nine. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and then worked in Germany for 11 years playing with many different ensembles.

She loves working with different art forms and performed as part of the Nederlands Dans Theater 2 on their 2014 tour to Edinburgh, in which she performed Philip Glass’ solo violin work Strung Out.

Felix Tanner | Viola

Felix is originally from Helensburgh and his earliest musical experience was playing the violin with local fiddle bands. He went on to attend the RSAMD Junior School and St. Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh before studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He is sub-principal viola in the SCO.

Felix has performed all over the world with various orchestras including the Aurora Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, Philharmonia and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and he has also worked with artists such as Jools Holland, Kate Rusby, Massive Attack, Tim Minchin and is a member of Tango Siempre.

Kevin Quantum’s Magical Tour of Edinburgh

Kevin Quantum is a magician who lives in Edinburgh. He was a scientist studying for a PhD until he took part in the C4 TV show Faking It in 2005 and managed to pass himself off as a magician. Since then he’s done it for real! He has performed all around the world including in Dubai, Australia and at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. He still appears regularly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
