Eastern-inspired vocal works by Britten, Lennox Berkeley and Sally Beamish come together in this richly coloured recital from respected British tenor James Gilchrist. He is joined by pianist Anna Tilbrook and acclaimed guitarist Craig Ogden, who also performs Britten’s atmospheric, virtuosic Nocturnal after John Dowland.

Gilchrist completes his programme with poignant Renaissance songs by Dowland, including the touching ‘In darkness let me dwell’, as well as Schumann’s Liederkreis.
