Getting around the city

Edinburgh is a very compact city which makes it ideal to explore on foot. Alternatively, there is a comprehensive local bus and train service, as well as private taxis.

Trains:
First ScotRail provide rail travel throughout Scotland and the UK. Visit Scotrail or First TransPennine Express for train timetables, maps and fares.

Buses:
Visit Lothian Buses for up-to-date information on all local buses including Edinburgh Bus Tours, Airlink, Edinburgh Shuttle and Night Buses. Visit First Buses for information on bus services to Edinburgh from in and around central Scotland.
