The Festival Theatre has 1915 seats making it the second largest theatre in Edinburgh. Built on the site of the Empire Theatre, the auditorium has been restored to its former glory and with its large stage, is ideal for large scale dance and opera productions. The Theatre's striking glass frontage provides a dramatic entrance to the traditional art deco auditorium.

Parking:
Single yellow lines and Pay and Display spaces on side streets. Double yellow line on Nicolson Street. As it is a main traffic route there is no parking between 7.30am and 6.30pm.
Access Information:
- Pavement ramp, or six steps with one handrail, at front of theatre.
- Level access is also available at a side entrance if required.
- Lift access to all levels of the theatre.
- Lift to all floors has a voice announcement.
- Wheelchair spaces available in centre stalls. Large parties welcome.
- Sennheiser infra-red system in all areas of the auditorium.
- Receivers for use either with or without a hearing aid are available; please ask any member of front of house staff if you would like to use this service. Headsets can be collected from the cloakroom.
- Levels one, two and three of the theatre all have accessible unisex toilets with emergency call buttons.
- Cafe has level access on the ground floor.
- Bars have lift access.
- Assistance dogs welcome and staff available to offer assistance.
- Braille and tactile signage throughout the building.
- Fully trained staff are always ready to assist.
