Friends and Patrons receive access to a calendar of year-round cultural events, ranging from trips abroad to tours of local art galleries. The events offer the perfect opportunity to meet fellow art lovers and include behind-the-scenes tours, guest speakers, lunches and coffee mornings.
This spring, Friends and Patrons are kindly invited by Chorus Master Christopher Bell to observe one of the Festival Chorus’ rehearsals in the lead up to this year’s Festival. Founded in 1965 and with around 130 members singing with power and precision it truly is a great experience. In the month of June we will be taking a trip to visit Hopetoun House, an exceptional ancestral home with fascinating architecture and historical content; a guide will be on hand to show us round the house and there will be a light lunch to follow. In the lead up to Festival 2013, Artistic Administrator Matthew Studdert-Kennedy and Head of Technical, John Robb will be giving a talk on this year’s Festival, allowing a detailed insight into some of the considerations that factor when planning a Festival of this size and scale.
