TICKETS FOR BANK OF SCOTLAND FIREWORKS CONCERT RELEASED ONLINE

The penultimate chance to buy tickets for the Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert 2010 - the spectacular finale to the Edinburgh International Festival - is today (Monday 26 July) when an allocation of tickets goes on sale online at www.eif.co.uk/fireworks from 11.00am.

This year the Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert features the grand music of glamorous Hollywood with music from composers Korngold, Bernstein, Herrmann and Waxman performed by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.

More than 100,000 fireworks will shoot into the sky over Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens on Sunday 5 September from 9.00pm in a magical 45 minutes of spectacular live music with choreographed fireworks wizardry.

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra conducted by Clark Rundell, will take audiences through music from the films that advanced the careers of some of the world's biggest stars - Ronald Reagan, Marlon Brando, Sean Connery, Yul Brynner and Tony Curtis.

The Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert is the largest annual live music pyrotechnic display in the world and last year attracted an audience of more than 220,000 people viewing from vantage points across the Scottish capital.

The fireworks display is designed by internationally-acclaimed fireworks artist Keith Webb of Pyrovision who aims to impress with some new effects never seen before. Some of the fireworks have been commissioned up to two years in advance especially for this concert. It will take a team of 15 technicians eight days to install the 12 tonnes of equipment needed including the spectacular waterfall that cascades off Edinburgh Castle.

The final allocation of Gardens tickets will go on sale for counter sales only at Hub Tickets on Sunday 29 August at 10.00am.
