As reviews pour in for The National Theatre of Palestine's theatre production Jidariyya (with The Scotsman calling it ‘an intensely moving experience') so do tributes to the late great Palestinian poet - Mahmoud Darwish -whose epic poem this play is adapted from. The Guardian's Review section dedicates its cover story to ‘one of the great Arab poets of modern times'. Jidariyya runs tonight and tomorrow at the Royal Lyceum Theatre. Last night's opening night performance of 4.48 Psychosis , from Polish theatre company TR Warszawa, was given four stars by The Herald and The Scotsman today. The Scotsman call this version of Sarah Kane's confronting play, ‘dark, sensationally powered'. It runs at the Kings Theatre tonight and tomorrow at 8pm.
The Scotsman gave five stars to the first of three, London Symphony Orchestra's Prokofiev's Seven Symphonies at the Usher Hall, calling it a translucent performance'. Tonight's concert features Symphony No 4 (original version), Sinfonia Concertante for Cello and Orchestra and Symphony No 5. Tomorrow's concert features Symphony No 6, Violin Concerto No 2 and Symphony No 7.
The Belgian dance production Steve Reich Evening opened at the Festival Theatre last night and earned four stars in both The Scotsman and The Herald. The Herald's Mary Brennan calls it ‘pulse-raising in every sense'. Steve Reich Evening runs tonight and tomorrow night at 7.30pm. To see a clip of this production click here.

The Scotsman's Festival Review section dedicated its cover story to the Bosnian theatre production of Class Enemy - an adaptation of Nigel Williams' 1978 play - which opens next Wednesday through to Saturday at the Royal Lyceum Theatre.
Over at Greyfriar's Kirk, The Scotsman gave five stars to Thursday's A Cumpagnia concert, The Guardian gave four stars for Wednesday's Chant Wars concert and The Herald gave five stars to the final concert in the Song and Civilisation series at Greyfriar's Kirk. Other rave reviews in today's papers include, five stars in The Scotsman for the Belcea Quartet at the Queen's Hall.
