EIF Stars Shine at the Bank of Scotland Herald Angels Awards

EIF made its mark on The Herald Angel Awards yesterday as four of the coveted prizes were given to shows from the Festival 08 programme. Congratulations go out to the cast and crew of Scottish Opera's The Two Widows who received a golden statue for their witty opera production, and The State Ballet of Georgia who received one for their performances of Giselle and Mixed Bill. As the ballet company has already left Scotland, EIF Director Jonathan Mills, collected it on their behalf. Jonathan was then called up to collect an award for the ever popular Song and Civilisation series of concerts again staged at Greyfriars Kirk as part of this year's Festival. Magdalena Cielecka of theatre company TR Warszawa was also honoured for her spirited and compelling performances in Dybbuk and 4.48 Psychosis. The ceremony was held at The Festival Theatre yesterday and provided a fitting end to a very successful first week of Festival 08.
