About the Performance
Roby Lakatos is a musician who defies definition. He has been called a gypsy violinist or devil's fiddler; a classical virtuoso; a jazz improviser; a composer and arranger and a 19th century throwback. He is actually all of these things at once and his performances show his extraordinary stylistic versatility.
When Roby Lakatos mixes classical music with the magic of Hungarian gypsy vitality it reflects a deep tradition rooted in the cultural heritage of the gypsy people and offers new, refreshing insights into the music.
These concerts are for all of us in whose veins still pulses at least a trace of the blood of the wandering spirit.
