The generosity of our supporters plays a vital role in making sure the Festival continues to be world class each year. Each of the artists and companies appear at the invitation of the Festival Director, and we cover all the costs associated with their performance in Edinburgh – fees, travel, accommodation, venue hire and the promotion of the performance. As a registered charity, Edinburgh International Festival aims to cover its costs each year and receives approximately 50% of its total income from public sector grants. The other 50% is generated through subsidized ticket sales, sponsorship and donations. Our supporters therefore play a key role in helping to bring the world’s premier artists and companies to Scotland each summer.

There’s many ways in which you can become involved. You can make a donation, enjoy a range of benefits by joining our membership programme as a Friend or Patron, gift a membership to a friend or loved one, or even become a Benefactor. There's other ways to help us too; consider leaving a gift to the Festival in your will and leave a lasting legacy for future audiences.
