2013 Community engagement

After the hugely popular Love in a Library in 2012, this coming year widens out the possibilities of where love might grow, in libraries, but also coffee shops and book shops around the city for Love in a…. These pop-up performances of live piano and song will spread their joy across the city in June, with the Festival’s digital and social media channels playing a leading role.

Rites of Passage is a pilot programme for young adults struggling with school or employment. Through a scheme of  professional mentoring and an arts involvement programme, it is hoped that six to ten young people will develop new foundations for engagement and greater confidence. They will be involved in existing Festival outreach projects as well as bespoke specialist programmes.
