About the Festival
Performance at the Edinburgh International Festival is by invitation only, issued by the Festival Director Jonathan Mills. The Edinburgh International Festival's programme includes a wide variety of performing arts, including opera, dance, theatre and music, with performers and companies drawn from Scotland, the UK and around the world.
The planning of each year's Festival is an ongoing process. Projects and programmes are developed with orchestras, soloists and companies often several years in advance.
